The iPhone SE was released all the way back in 2016 and it has been the saving grace of everyone whos a fan of small phones. The iPhone SE takes after the iPhone 5 which was released all the way back in 2012. But for a 6 year old design it looks and feels premium and surprisingly - modern.

So Whos The iPhone SE For?

Apple aim the iPhone SE at a demographic that prefers smaller phones, But whos not willing to skimp on the specs. A small but persistent demographic. For the last two years the iPhone SE has been the only small phone with decently modern specs. On it's release the iPhone SE could go toe to toe with the flagship iPhone at the time, The iPhone 6s. Thats mainly due to the fact that the SE is basically the 6s in an iPhone 5 body. The iPhone SE has an A9 chip, 2 gigabytes of ram, a 12 MP camera. All just like the iPhone 6s. The iPhone SE allowed all the people who were holding out from getting a new iPhone since the iPhone 5s to finally upgrade.

The iPhone SE Did Sell Well

Now most of you might be confused by this. You might  not have seen a whole lot of iPhone SEs over the past two years but the iPhone SE did sell in places you woudn't really expect it to. With the iPhone SE Apple found themselves in a price bracket they hadn't really broken into before. The iPhone SE retailed at $349. Earlier the entry level iPhone cost about $459 but with the iPhone SE you now had a phone that was dirt cheap but with decent internals. To anyone on a budget the SE was a bargain. The iPhone SEs attractive price point made it really attractive in price sensitive markets , That is the developing world. Over in India and markets as such. Price is king. A recent statistic revealed that in India most phones sold are below $230. The iPhone SE is well placed to take advantage of this price sensitivity. Now you could get an iPhone ( Which most people see as a status symbol) for a relatively cheap price and this tactic has worked. The iPhone SE has exploded in popularity in India. It is so popular that Apple decided to set up a manufacturing plant in India just to manufacture the SE and sales have skyrocketed.

So What Will The iPhone SE 2 Be Like?

Not like that. Whatever the iPhone SE2 looks like it won't be like that. There have been rumors that the iPhone SE will be getting the iPhone X treatment. With smaller bezels, Face Id and wireless charging. But according to industry experts this wont be happening. The iPhone SE is beautiful for it's price point. Sure the iPhone X version of the iPhone SE would be cool but it would cannibalize the sales of the iPhone X. Which would mean that Apple would be losing on the SE. In my opinion  the SE will release with an upgraded processor a better camera and maybe a glass back for wireless charging.
I know a lot of you were waiting for the new and revamped SE but it probably wont be happening.
